ReplyDeleteSometimes I'm frustrated and discouraged that some of my students don't seem to try. They seem unmotivated and downright lazy. That's when I also think about what motivated me when I was growing up. I knew getting a good education (in America!) would free me from the poverty that I grew up in half a world away.
You summed it up here, "...ready to come home with a new appreciation of the gifts they have been given, including the opportunity to do their homework."
